The operating cycle of a vacuum vulcanizing press, or vacuum compression molding machine, can be summarized as follows:
Loading — mold closing — vacuum evacuation — pressurizing and heating — curing / vulcanization — mold opening — ejection
For vacuum compression molding, after the measured material is put into the mold, the vacuum hood creates a low-pressure environment surrounding the mold while the mold is being closed, helping remove trapped air inside the mold. Then the hydraulic system provides pressure while the heated platen continuously transfers heat to the mold. After the vulcanization/curing process under set temperature and time, the mold opens and the ejector assists in part removal.
With 2,500 kN clamping force and 540×600mm heated platen, the vacuum compression molding machine can be used for medium-sized rubber moldings with complex geometries or designs prone to air entrainment.
Examples: O-rings, rubber seals, rubber gaskets, rubber diaphragms, vibration dampers, rubber bushings, dust boots / rubber boots, rubber pads and some rubber-to-metal bonded parts
The suitability for a specific product depends on rubber compound, part dimensions, mold dimensions, mold thickness, cavity count, projected molding area and curing process.
The vacuum compression molding machine uses an electro-hydraulic proportional control system， with dual power units, dual hydraulic pumps, and dual motors, enabling hydraulic pressure control during mold closing, pressurizing and vulcanization.
With 2,500 kN clamping force, the vacuum compression molding machine maintains mold closure and set pressure during the molding process.
The molding pressure should be set according to the rubber compound, projected mold area, product geometry, and curing process.
